Acceptable Use Policy

Effective Date: May 25, 2026

Operator notice. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements the Terms of Service and applies to everything you do on OntoBoom, including content you publish to the Hub and traffic you send to MCP Serving endpoints. It is not legal advice.

You may not use OntoBoom — or content served via OntoBoom — to do, or to enable others to do, any of the following:

1. Unlawful or Harmful Activity

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right;
  • Plan, facilitate, or encourage violent acts, terrorism, child exploitation, or human trafficking;
  • Distribute illegal goods or services;
  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate any person.

2. Intellectual Property Misuse

  • Publish content that infringes a third party's copyright, trademark, trade-secret, patent, or moral rights;
  • Publish proprietary schemas you do not have permission to share;
  • Misuse another party's trademark in a namespace, slug, README, or description;
  • Claim ownership of content that is not yours.

If you believe content on the Hub infringes your IP, follow our DMCA notice procedure.

3. Personal Data, Secrets, and Confidential Material

  • Do not publish personal data of any natural person (names, contact details, IDs, health data, location data, etc.) in an ontology, README, description, or review, unless you have a clear lawful basis;
  • Do not publish credentials, API keys, access tokens, private keys, signed cookies, internal URLs, or other confidential material in any field of a Hub publication;
  • Do not publish content subject to regulated handling (PHI under HIPAA, payment-card data under PCI, etc.) on the public Hub.

If you accidentally publish sensitive material, yank the version immediately and contact support to request a hard-delete override.

4. Malicious or Deceptive Content

  • Do not publish malware, exploit code, or content designed to compromise a downstream system;
  • Do not embed prompt-injection payloads or other content designed to subvert AI agents that consume your ontology via MCP — for example, instructions hidden in entity descriptions telling the consuming model to ignore its system prompt or exfiltrate data;
  • Do not publish content designed to phish or deceive humans inspecting your ontology;
  • Do not misrepresent who you are or your affiliation with any organization (including by registering a handle calculated to impersonate a recognizable third party).

5. Abuse of Hub and MCP Infrastructure

  • Do not use automated means (bots, scrapers, repeated polling) to access Studio, Hub, or MCP Serving in a way that imposes a disproportionate load or circumvents rate limits;
  • Do not attempt to amplify pull counts, ratings, or reviews artificially;
  • Do not attempt to access another user's private content, namespace, or account;
  • Do not attempt to identify or de-anonymize anonymous reviewers;
  • Do not reverse-engineer the platform except as expressly permitted by law.

6. Reviews and Ratings

  • Reviews must reflect a genuine, good-faith evaluation;
  • Do not coordinate ratings to manipulate the popularity of an ontology;
  • Do not use reviews to harass authors, dox individuals, or distribute malicious links;
  • You may post anonymously, but the underlying record retains your user ID for moderation purposes (see Privacy Policy § 3).

7. Misuse of AI Features

  • Do not use the AI Copilot to generate content that violates this AUP, any applicable law, or third-party rights;
  • Do not use the AI Copilot to extract personal data from third parties or to generate impersonation material;
  • The Service is not an oracle for regulated decisions (financial, legal, medical, safety-critical) — do not represent AI Copilot or MCP tool output as professional advice.

8. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content on the Hub or behavior on the platform that violates this AUP, please report it to support with the canonical URL of the offending content (e.g. https://hub.ontoboom.com/@ns/slug/versions/x.y.z) and a short description.

9. Enforcement

We may, at our discretion and without prior notice:

  • Yank a version, hide a review, or remove an ontology from public feeds;
  • Suspend or terminate the offending account;
  • Block access from specific IP ranges or User-Agents;
  • Report unlawful content to relevant authorities;
  • Cooperate with law-enforcement requests in accordance with the law.

We aim to apply enforcement proportionate to the violation. Repeated or severe violations result in account termination.

10. Changes to this AUP

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
